What is Scalp Micropigmentation?

This non-surgical treatment can restore the appearance of thicker, more dense hair using a method similar to permanent makeup applications. These results last for many years and require no recovery time or extensive procedures.

Scalp Micropigmentation

How Does Scalp Micropigmentation Work?

Using microblading, the same technique used to apply permanent makeup, scalp micropigmentation creates many tiny dots that mimic the appearance of hair on the scalp and fill in areas of visible skin to make the hair look thick and full.

Scalp micropigmentation places pigments under the skin, similar to a tattoo. Unlike inks, which can discolor and fade quickly, these pigments are made for this purpose and will maintain their color for many years to come. However, since treatment does not place pigments as deeply in the skin as a tattoo, results can fade after several years and benefit from a touch-up.

Benefits of Scalp Micropigmentation

For many people, looking in the mirror and seeing thinning hair causes feelings of self-consciousness. Scalp micropigmentation can restore a person’s confidence and reduce their anxiety in social situations. While many people see treatments for thinning hair as intended for men, women can feel just as much or more anxiety as a result of thinning hair, and they can benefit just as much from scalp micropigmentation.

This method of addressing thinning hair can save time since people no longer spend time covering up or disguising thinning areas. Instead of worrying about whether areas of thinning hair might reveal themselves, people can relax and stop feeling self-conscious about the appearance of their hair.

What is Scalp Micropigmentation Treatment Like?

Before your treatment, a Baltic Beauty Centre provider will apply a numbing cream to your scalp and allow it to take effect. Like a tattoo or microblading, the process of applying the pigments into the skin may feel uncomfortable but tolerable, and the numbing cream makes treatment more comfortable.

Treatment usually takes between four and five hours, although this depends on the size of the area being covered. Many people need three to four treatments, allowing your provider to layer hair colors for the most natural look. Fortunately, you will not have to worry about repeating the procedure for a long time. Most people only need a touch-up every three to seven years.

Is There Any Downtime With Scalp Micropigmentation?

After scalp micropigmentation, you will not be able to get your head wet, including washing your head or excessive sweating, for several days while the pigments become established. Avoid exposing your scalp to the sun for at least four days and preferably longer since sun exposure can decrease how long your results will last.

"I originally heard of Baltic Beauty through a friend. Not only is the atmosphere comfortable but the spa is beautiful. They were so professional and answered every question I had about all of the services. I definitely will be bringing my girlfriend here."
